About 1 month ago, my Dr. prescribed a very small dose (5mg/day) of Crestor. I have a lifelong history of naturally high cholesterol. We have a history of high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke in my immediate family. Along with diet and exercise we attempted to correct my cholesterol problems. The first few days were okay. By day 3, I definitely began to feel the side effects. I couldn’t perform my normal exercise routines without my muscles being absolutely exhausted. I thought, okay, I’ll just take it easier and build back up to this point. Nope. I just couldn’t do basic exercise because I was exhausted by the time I got home. Then, when I tried to do simple things, like bowling on my wii or stretching I would pull a muscle. I don’t mean I would pull it and a few minutes later I could rub the cramp/strain out. I mean the muscle was shot and in pain for days. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose? Exercise is important to keeping your heart healthy! A month into using Crestor, I started experiencing pain in my sternum. It started as a dull ache that increased if I slouched or reached across my chest. I had just had a car wreck 1 week before. Thinking maybe the seatbelt caused a bruise, I gave my body 1 week to see if the pain went away. It did not. Four days ago, I stopped taking Crestor. Slowly I am starting to feel better! Two days after stopping the pain in my sternum relented! Yesterday, I was able to garden for 1 1/2 hours! I’m sore today, but not from the Crestor. Not only are my flower beds prettier, but I am feeling much better!

Have called Dr P? That so doesnt sound normal, is any of that a side effect?
I called Dr.P. They told me to stop taking it and we’ll discuss other options when I come in next week. I was supposed to have lab work done to make sure some kind of levels where okay (liver function stuff).
Goodness. Keep me posted on what he says, tell him to stop giving my friend bad stuff. Stoopid Dr P.
So many of the medicines they give us do more harm than good. I hope you find a better solution.
I tried three other meds. All of them had pretty bad side-effects.
Thanks for commenting and hoping I find a better solution!
