I know my entertainment choices would indicate that there’s something wrong with my brain function. I think it’s because I have to be so responsible, intelligent, and decisive in all the various aspects of my life. I need some “thought free” downtime. You know, time that lets you check out. Most of my choices are candy-coated (e.g. cartoons on while getting ready for work, Disney-pop music on the way to the store, etc). Every now and then, I let myself be entertained by something beyond immature, beyond stupid.
I just watched MTV’s new show “Is She Really Dating Him?”What is wrong with young people today? They disgust me. They have no sense of responsibility, no concept of morals and values, and absolutely no self respect. The guys featured on this show portray a narcissistic, reckless, and disrespectful lifestyle. They treat life and their girlfriends as material conveniences. One of them actually said, “Don’t blame me for my actions. They’re not my fault.” Yeah loser, they are your fault. They are your actions.
Things all of these guys had in common:
- Over-spiked helmets of hair
- Orange fake tans
- Low self-esteem girlfriend
- Unemployed (or barely employed)
- Living far beyond their financial means
- Mass consumption of alcohol
- A crew of equally douchey guy friends
- A harem of ridiculously made-up (with make-up & hair) brainless girls
- Little or no achievement in life (personally, financially, professionally, or academically)
The girls with these douchebags are just as bad. Most of them “dumped” the boys at the end of the show. One of the girls actually proposed to her douche-friend of three years. How pathetic do you have to be to put up with a guy being utterly disrespectful to you, all women, and life? Spend your time and energy getting an education instead of “fixing” this perpetual leech on society. The only thing this guy is good for is ruining your self-esteem.
They’re parents, both the girls’ and boys’, should be arrested for producing these menaces to society. These kids couldn’t make it in the real world if they tried.
